DESCRIPTION:Whether you are after titles\, or just some awesome fun\, come check out the flying dogs! We have so much fun at these events. As always we will plan to BBQ on Saturday night. Please bring a side and join in on the fun. Check our Facebook Event for more details as we get closer to the event! \nThis event will use jump cards.  We will send out a voluntary prepayment link when the date for the pulls from the event occurs. We will send it out again after the event closes. You will make payment and then sign up on the online running order.  It is your responsibility to pay first and then sign up for the appropriate number of splashes.  If you are on the online sign up but have not paid\, we will remove you. You can pay at the event and sign up on the run order there if you prefer\, however\, spots are offered first come\, first served. \nThe online running order will be the running order for the event. First come. First Served.   You may not jump the same dog more than twice per hour. You may stay all day if you wish and spread your jumps over throughout the day (you do not have to leave when your jumps are done as during Covid). The online running order is designed to give you the convenience of knowing when your jump slots are and plan travel accordingly.  If you miss your slot for not being here\, you will be able to sign up in the next available open slot upon arrival. \nYou must have a NADD number to participate. \nSign up Here \nThursday Night will be AR/HD. There will be a class available Thursday afternoon if you want to learn about AR/HD. \nFri\, Sat\, Sun will have distance jumps and either AR or HD. Please look at event website to determine. \nWalkups will be accommodated until entries are maxed out. \nThis is a sanctioned event by North America Diving Dogs. Titles earned here will be eligible for recognition by American Kennel Club.

SUMMARY:CWC 401: Obedience: Out and Abouts
DESCRIPTION:These are field trips to various community places/events to practice our obedience skills in real life situations. These are typically Friday (first or second Friday of the month depending on Facility events) but may occasionally move to another day to accommodate going to a specific event. We will typically move between Lodi\, Galt\, Rancho Cordova\, Folsom\, Amador. We will often go to a store such as Home Depot\, Lowes\, Tractor Supply.  All outings will be at dog friendly locations so that both service dog prospects and pet prospects may attend. \nWe also have regular trips to a patio Restaurant/coffee shop. It is so important to work on life skills\, so like our store outings\, these are designed to get us out of the facility and into the community so that our dogs can learn to settle during social interactions around other dogs. Make no mistake\, while we are having a “social outing” we are training\, so its very important for owners to learn how to maintain training even when not on the “training field”. The location of the outings will be posted in the online community within 7 days of the scheduled outing. \nThese community outings.  Sign up in our Gold Country K9 Academy online Community under ” Meetups” once you are approved to go! You must have completed your CWC 301 Certificate.

SUMMARY:CWC 301: Group Class at Training Field
DESCRIPTION:Communicate with Clarity 301: \nThis class is a part of our core obedience program\, Communicate with Clarity. Students must have completed the skills in both CWC 101 and CWC 201 before coming to this class. This is the class where we focus on putting together all of the skills we learned in the prior courses and start doing things with distractions. In the first two courses\, we focused on learning in a quiet environment\, but now we are bringing those cues into the distractions. This class focuses on doing that with an emphasis on understanding threshold and focusing on learning where your dogs threshold is and decreasing it so that you can easily work around others. \nThis class focuses on bringing fluency amongst the distractions of the other dogs. All dogs work on the field\, doing individually appropriate cues (bed\, down\, loose lead walking\, etc…). Instructor works with one dog at a time to advance them on the cues with the distractions at whatever level they are working on. All other students may listen and learn from the Individual coaching\, and students may be grouped together who are doing “like” work\, but each dog team will get individualized time during the class. Students should come prepared with an understanding of what they want help to work on (game plan can be established with instructor ahead of time)\, but only the student knows what they were able to work on during the week and where they may have struggled. The goal is to have each person moving forward each class session. The overall focus of this class is to master your cues (skills) under distractions) \nThis class be continuously used as students advance to introduce new cues from our “Skills” library in a controlled environment\, once they have completed their basic cues. It is the appropriate place for our specialty students to work on their advanced cues\, once they have finished teaching the behavior and want to introduce those cues under distraction.  Once you have mastered the basic cues in this class\, then student will begin attending the CWC 401 “Out and Abouts” and take their skills into the community.

When you have multiple dogs\,  you get to rest your dog\, show them a bit of what a competition will look like (a few minutes on the dock and then rotating off for the next person\, then back on\, etc…). This is a great way to build community with others who share your passion! During the summer we have open dock 3-5 times per week; and the winter\, weather permitting 1-2x per week. SUMMARY:CWC 301: Group Class at Training Field
DESCRIPTION:Communicate with Clarity 301: \nThis class is a part of our core obedience program\, Communicate with Clarity. Students must have completed the skills in both CWC 101 and CWC 201 before coming to this class. This is the class where we focus on putting together all of the skills we learned in the prior courses and start doing things with distractions. In the first two courses\, we focused on learning in a quiet environment\, but now we are bringing those cues into the distractions. This class focuses on doing that with an emphasis on understanding threshold and focusing on learning where your dogs threshold is and decreasing it so that you can easily work around others. \nThis class focuses on bringing fluency amongst the distractions of the other dogs. All dogs work on the field\, doing individually appropriate cues (bed\, down\, loose lead walking\, etc…). Instructor works with one dog at a time to advance them on the cues with the distractions at whatever level they are working on. All other students may listen and learn from the Individual coaching\, and students may be grouped together who are doing “like” work\, but each dog team will get individualized time during the class. Students should come prepared with an understanding of what they want help to work on (game plan can be established with instructor ahead of time)\, but only the student knows what they were able to work on during the week and where they may have struggled. The goal is to have each person moving forward each class session. The overall focus of this class is to master your cues (skills) under distractions) \nThis class be continuously used as students advance to introduce new cues from our “Skills” library in a controlled environment\, once they have completed their basic cues. It is the appropriate place for our specialty students to work on their advanced cues\, once they have finished teaching the behavior and want to introduce those cues under distraction.  Once you have mastered the basic cues in this class\, then student will begin attending the CWC 401 “Out and Abouts” and take their skills into the community.

DESCRIPTION:IGP (formerly Schutzhund/ IPO)\nThis class is for those wanting to do the sport. The field will be open for obedience for the first 30 minutes; and protection will follow at that time. We focus on putting the foundation in place methodically and with excellent technique.  It is not required that you take our focused obedience program\, but it is certainly helpful if you are. That will give you an understanding of our methodology and why we do things the way we do them. We host trials here at the facility.
